PCS has carved out a new Investigations practice, specialized in internal investigations and management of risks related to irregularities and wrongdoing. The practice is led by Karolina Kanclerz, partner in PCS’s Wrocław office, and Marcin Sanetra, PCS partner in Warsaw.
Karolina, a certified Compliance Officer, and Marcin, drawing on his experience from the NYU Program on Corporate Compliance and Enforcement, have for years supported PCS clients in investigations matters. Together with their team, they combine experience in employment law, compliance, and white-collar crime, providing comprehensive support – from incident response and conducting investigations to implementing remedial solutions and representing clients.
Depending on the client’s needs, the team also designs reporting and crisis-response systems, provides training and education, and, when conducting investigations, works with leading forensic experts, uses advanced technology tools, and operates within clients’ international structures, relying on foreign professional qualifications and multijurisdictional attorney-client privilege.
PCS’s experience shows that internal investigations require a tailored approach and support from experienced experts who can handle situations involving increased legal, business and reputational risk. They are often conducted under time pressure, using incomplete information, and subject to strict confidentiality. The way in which an investigation is conducted may directly affect the liability of the company and its management, as well as any subsequent proceedings, including court or regulatory matters.
The dedicated Investigations practice enables Karolina and Marcin to respond even more efficiently and effectively in the most important and challenging matters.
