Marcin Sanetra was a panelist at the ABA International Labor & Employment Law Committee. 2022 Midyear Meeting.

He was privileged to talk about Poland’s response to the war in Ukraine, and to discuss employment contexts of migrations in times of crisis.

Session: Migration in Times of Crisis – The Worker and Employer Perspective.

The war in the Ukraine and the displacement of millions of Ukrainians has raised attention on the intersection of refugee and migration status and employment for workers across skill level and the important roles for employers, workers organizations, and other stakeholders.  This panel was brought diverse experience on responding to forced migration issues driving workers into new labor markets on for temporary and more permanent resettlement and the impacts of refugees and migrants on existing workers and employers.  Panelists was discussed issues related to immediate humanitarian needs, work authorization, and transferability of licenses and skills.  We were also hear specifically from those working on the frontlines of the Ukraine crisis and responses from European law firms in neighboring countries.
