Sick leave: not a vacation

Employers are increasingly grappling with employees who travel abroad while on sick leave. Employees often justify these trips by citing the need for a change of scenery and improved recovery, even when evidence suggests the vacation was booked before their alleged illness. The situation becomes particularly problematic when social security benefits are involved.
