Migrant contributions fuel Polish social security system

18.03.2025

Migrant workers are making increasingly significant contributions to our social security system, even though the system’s design means they may not reap the full benefits of future pensions. They also play a crucial role in filling labour shortages in less desirable occupations. However, this trend has a concerning downside. The prevalence of undeclared work and social security evasion further compounds these concerns. While regulatory actions are being taken, their impact will be limited without enhanced enforcement and oversight. – Karolina Schiffter comments for Dziennik Gazeta Prawna.
