GMI Legal Update: 31 August 2026 – an important date in immigration law

The upcoming holiday and vacation season does not mean a break from immigration law developments. It is crucial to remember that 31 August 2026 is a deadline for those who obtained UKR status based on a declaration, without a passport. From 1 September, those who fail to confirm their identity with an ID document at any municipal office will lose their UKR status. They will be unable to apply for a CUKR card or travel using Diia.pl, among other things.

We encourage you to complete these formalities as soon as possible to avoid missing this deadline between taking trips and preparations for the new school year.
