HR’s digital transformation: moving beyond pen and paper

The practical challenge of transitioning away from pen-and-paper processes lies in areas where written documentation has traditionally been required, such as trade union consultations and employment terminations. While the general view is that physical documents are needed in the above situations, we believe that delivering information or termination notice in digital form or using biometric signatures, should be equally valid. Encouragingly, courts are increasingly embracing new technology. However, until full legal acceptance is achieved, HR professionals must be prepared to demonstrate that they acted in compliance with regulatory requirements, even without physical paperwork. – Sławomir Paruch, Bartosz Tomanek and Mateusz Krajewski comment for Rzeczpospolita.
