Cracking down on sick leave fraud: government and doctors team up

The government is preparing to overhaul the ZUS (Social Insurance Institution) adjudication system, with a focus on tackling sick leave abuse. These fraudulent claims place a considerable strain on employers, who foot the bill for the first 14 or 33 days of an employee’s sick leave, and can temporarily paralyse their business operations. – Karolina Schiffter comments for Dziennik Gazeta Prawna.
